Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes....

Its that time of the year again! You know...the time when I pretend to be Oprah...only with a lot less money...and I don't give away stuff to my viewers.

Each year I write about new products I've tried, loved and incorporated into my lifestyle over the previous 12 months. When I sat down to make my list this year, I was a little disappointed. I think I've become complacent in the way of trying new things. I've found what works and have stopped deviating from that. That's no fun!

So while this year's list may not be as impressive as years gone by, it has encouraged me to add something to my New Year's Resolutions: Try New Things.

With that said, here we go:

Nivea: A Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care SPF 4 . That's quite a name, is it not? I just refer to it as that "Nivea lip stuff." Anyway, a friend of mine got a really good deal on this at Walgreen's a few months ago and shared the love. I am addicted. This is a big step for me in the way of lip care considering I'm kind of a dude when it comes to my lips. I rarely wear anything in the way of stick, gloss, stain or plumper. My lip balm of choice for the past 25 years has been the same stuff my dad used when I was kid: Chapstick Original. Yeah. Awesome. I know. Not now. I have Nivea: A Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care SPF 4.

Target's up & up Deep Cream Cleanser. The description on the tube reads: "deep cleans pores. cool, tingling feeling. oil free." There's really nothing more that I could add. But of course I will. I'm really bad at washing my face before I go to bed. But now I can't wait to because of this stuff - washing my face is the highlight of my day. And that is a sad statement about my life, apparently. Anyway, it makes my skin feel all cold and fresh - kind of like old school Noxzema but not as intense.

Dove Ultimate go fresh Revive pomegranate and lemon verbena deodorant. Why do all of my favorite things have such ridiculously long names? Oh well. I was a little apprehensive about trying this because my experiences with citrus or fruity deodorants have always ended badly. This one, however, has not. I won't divulge all of my sweating issues because some things are just better left unsaid.

Philosophy Pure Grace. I'm partial to the shower gel and spray fragrance. It's crisp and clean, like freshly washed sheets. And what is better than freshly washed sheets? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Except for maybe falling asleep with the windows open during a thunderstorm with a purring cat curled up next to your head. But that's about it. Nothing else.

Meijer brand precooked bacon. Yeah, you read that right. Bacon made it into The 2010 List of Jaime's Favorite Things. And when it comes to bacon, precooked is all I do. It's quick and easy. And I'm a lazy cook. This stuff is awesome! It's crispy and salty and perfect for brinner, which we do regularly in our home.

So there you have it.

May your Christmas Season be blessed with good friends and special family moments...and The 2010 List of Jaime's Favorite Things, of course. And here's hoping 2011 brings more than just bacon and lip balm into our lives.

It's probably a good thing that I don't do the "favorite thing giveaway" like Oprah does.

I totally agree with the facial cleanser. But, sdaly, I had to make the switch to proactive. My face is acting and looking like a 14 year old girl. :( Sad, I know.
