Several weeks ago, I realized that, due to media glut and nosy little ears that eavesdrop on every conversation, negative ideas about various geographic locations had begun to infiltrate my nearly-7-year-old's way of thinking. So, we had a conversation about how "bad things can happen anywhere," and not only in specific countries, states, cities, neighborhoods, etc.
He brow furrowed into a very serious expression as she said, "Now by 'bad things' you mean graffiti...right?"
Yes, my sweet, innocent, beautiful daughter. I mean graffiti. In your world, that is the absolute worst thing that could ever happen.
I love childhood.
